Food Inflation & Its Impact

Whenever there is shortage of food, resulting in higher food inflation, often we see unrest in countries and societies. Classical example being the French revolution (1787-1799), when french people went to streets due to scarcity of bread! And this basic problem could spiral to the ouster of French Monarchy culminating in execution of King Louie XVI

Food inflation is now a reality for much of the world. It contributed to the overthrow of the Tunisian government, has led to riots across the Middle East and North Africa, driven up costs in China and India, and may only be getting started. With growing population, shrinking agriculture, changing climate and corrupt governments such instances may threat the world frequently.
