Good Stocks for Tough Times:

When market is bad, most of the share prices fall. We assume that these companies are doingWhen everyone is enjoying good times, you don't know who has taken on excessive risks financially bad. But the fact is, when sentiments are bad, wheather the campany is good or bad - they fall alike. It is this golden opportunity to distinguish the good from bad. To quote Warren Buffet ""It's only when the tide goes out that you learn who's been swimming naked." When everyone is enjoying good times, you don't know who has taken on excessive risks. Just because the share prices have fallen doesnot mean that the companies are doing badly. And a Bear Market (like the one we are experiencing for past three years), help you identifying those companies which are doing finanancially well inspite of challenging times. And it is these companies which bounce back first and rally when markets recover.

We analysed 1500 companies listed on BSE. We started narrowing down baed on liquidity of stock (frequently traded), financial result for past 10 years, companies with positive networth during each of the last 10 financial years, companies which reported profit during all these 10 years, Companies which paid dividend in all these 10 years and comapnies which reported increase in profit in each and every financial year. That resulted in 38 companies.

Among them, we picked following stocks which have fallen in recent past and with decent business model: 



These stocks are selected based on objective criteria and their valuation has not been looked. May be from Price Earnings point of view they may be expensive. But each of these stocks have satisfied the conditions mentioned above.
