  • 6 years ago acquired UK based Corus – Europe’s 2nd largest steel producer.
  • Post Corus acquisition, TATA Steel became one among Top 10 global steel makers.
  • Capacity of 29 million tonnes per annum
  • 29% revenue from domestic market
  • 28% revenue from European union
  • 24% revenue from UK
  • 13% revenue from Asia
  • Total Debt: ` 66074 Cr
  • Debt Equity Ratio: 1.58 as on FY 2013
  • Loss of ` 7057 Crores in FY 2013
  • Capital Expenditure incurred : ` 15,472 Cr
  • TATA Steel is in the process of cleaning up its balance sheet : wrote off US$ 1.6 billion in FY 2013 – significant part being Corus.
  • Book Value per share is ` 352.
  • 2-3 years of strong steel cycle required for the company to bounce back.
